Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I see a psychiatrist?
As a psychiatrist, I am the only member of a mental health team who trained as a medical doctor specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. This allows me to draw on medical knowledge about biological and psychological factors impacting my patients and combine medication and other interventions to treat mental illness.
I am already in therapy. Can I come see you for a medication consultation?
Yes. Psychotherapy is an important part of many treatment plans and I welcome collaboration with other members of your treatment team to ensure you receive comprehensive care.
Can I use my insurance?
The goal at Emi Psychiatry is to provide high-quality, personalized care without the influence of insurance companies or administrators. Therefore, the practice is out-of-network with all insurances.
Payment is required at time of service. An invoice, also known as a superbill, will be provided to you. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may submit the superbill to your insurance company for direct reimbursement.
Do you see patients virtually?
Initial evaluation appointments are in-person at my office in Montclair, NJ. I offer follow up appointments both in person and virtually to people residing in NJ.
Do you see children and adolescents?
No. I only see adults 18 years and older.
Do you offer ketamine, psilocybin, or other psychedelic-assisted treatment?
No.
