Dr. Gilman graduated from Clarkson University with a bachelor’s degree in Biomolecular Science and attended medical school at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. She completed an adult psychiatry residency at Yale University, during which she served as the Program Wide Chief Resident, as well as Clinical Chief Resident on the Mood Disorders Unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Before opening Emi Psychiatry, Dr. Gilman worked at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center providing inpatient psychiatric care to patients with serious mental illness and served as a clinical preceptor for medical students.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Gilman is a passionate advocate for increasing mental healthcare access and reproductive justice. She maintains a clinical instructorship at Yale Department of Psychiatry where she serves as co-leader of the Advocacy Track of the Social Justice and Health Equities Curriculum. She is a member of the New Jersey Psychiatric Association within which she has been appointed to the Council on Advocacy.
